   Fright Nights Fearfestival 2020 In the age of COVID-19 any Halloween event going ahead must be applauded for its bravery and ability to work around major obstacles. Thorpe Park's Fright Nights has been a major part of the resorts year ever since it burst onto the scene in 2002 and has always relied on scare mazes to attract crowds. This year the pandemic has led to the park only being able to operate outdoor mazes, meaning for the first time since 2003 the event will run with two mazes. The park however has knocked it out of the park with several other non maze attractions which will make an appearance at the 2020 event. The event will run from the 9th of October to the 1st of November and opening times have been reduced by an hour to 10am to 9pm. Platform 15 (2016-)

Tallest Rollercoasters In The UK The UK has 188 rollercoasters as of 2019 and here is the 10 tallest according to the Rollercoaster Database. 1. The Big One (213ft) Built in 1994 by Arrow Dynamics this coaster is one of the most iconic in the world and towers over the rest of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It was the tallest in the world until 1997. The countries only traditional hyper offers high speed hills with not much airtime but a lot of thrills. 2. Stealth (205ft) Stealth is the fastest rollercoaster in the country and is only 7 feet off the top spot in the UK. The Intamin launch coaster opened in 2006 at Thorpe Park and is part of the Amity themed area. The ride has lots of racetrack theming and is one of the best themed rides in the country. It is one of the most intense coasters in the country and is sure to give lots of thrills, especially at the front.  3. The History of Alton Towers Resort John Broome (1980-1990) The first decade in the parks history was led by John Broome. The park was transformed from a estate and fairground to more of a theme park. Major additions included Corkscrew in 1980, The Flume in 1981 and the Black Hole in 1984 and Congo River Rapids in 1986 that all put the park on the map in England and for thrill seekers around the world. Along with lots of permanent rides being put in most of the parks infrastructure was created such as Towers Street and the Monorail. The best addition in my opinion was the Corkscrew as it put the park on the map and created the park we all know and love today.  Pearsons Tussauds (1990-1998) Potentially the most iconic era for the park and enthusiasts was the Pearsons Tussauds era.
